Feature Kitchen: n8n's Next Execution Engine
Teams are using n8n to run workloads with increasing scale and reliability needs. We're building a new workflow execution engine to meet those requirements — one that offers durability and reliable scaling. Built on a distributed, event-driven model, it isolates executions and supports more flexible flow control.
Building a system like this involves real design trade-offs and prioritization choices. In this session, we'll share our plans, walk through those decisions, and get your feedback on future directions.
We'll especially look to discuss the scale and reliability we'll offer and the trade-offs that come with it, the balance between evolving the system and maintaining compatibility, and the capabilities users would most like to see in a new execution engine.
