Read supportedTotals before using a total* field: a key missing from it is not reported by ANY platform in the window and is 0 only because the column defaults to 0. metricSupport gives the per-platform lists, partialTotals names platforms excluded from an otherwise-real total, and metricsDisabledChannels lists channels whose sync is off (X only — its reads are billed, so sync is opt-in per channel and at most weekly). linkClicks and totalLinkClicks count clicks on bulkpubli.sh short links, measured by BulkPublish rather than the platform — available on every platform including the unmeasurable ones, and deliberately NOT part of totalClicks, so never add the two together.

Approve
Requires a role with post:approve (owner, admin, approver). The post publishes at its scheduled time, or right away if that time passed less than 15 minutes ago. Approved later than that, If Late decides: publish now, or approve but return it to status "draft" (approvalStatus "approved", scheduledAt unchanged) with the author notified to choose a new time. Left unset, the post's own publishWhenApproved decides (publish if true, otherwise draft), so check the returned status. Approving turns Publish When Approved off. Fails with 409 if the post changed since you loaded it (checked when If Unmodified Since is set) or is no longer awaiting approval: get it again and review what is there now.

Engagement metrics per platform. Each platform entry carries supportedMetrics — any metric key not in that list is stored as 0 because the platform has no such field, so do not treat it as a measurement. X reports no reach/saves/clicks/video views, Bluesky and Mastodon no impressions, Pinterest no reach, YouTube no shares or reach.
