Send weekly cash and runway summaries to Slack with Aggregate and Claude Haiku

Quick overview

Every Monday, posts each company's cash, net burn and runway to Slack from Aggregate (a read-only finance MCP), with last week's biggest money movements, large items due in 14 days and open review items, plus an @here alert when runway drops under your threshold.

How it works

  1. Every Monday at 9:00 the Schedule trigger starts the run. Settings holds the runway alert threshold (months) and the smallest due amount worth listing.
  2. Get review items and Get upcoming call Aggregate's MCP server directly, so review counts and due dates never come from the AI.
  3. An AI agent (Claude Haiku 5.5) reads cash, net burn, runway and last week's three biggest money movements per company. A Structured Output Parser checks its JSON.
  4. A Code node builds the digest: per company cash, net burn and runway, the top movements, large items due and how many items wait for review.
  5. Slack gets the digest. An IF node sends a second @here message only when a company's runway is under the threshold.

Setup

  1. Aggregate: create an MCP OAuth2 credential with Dynamic Client Registration on and Server URL https://app.aggregate.finance, then Connect and pick the companies and data it may read. Use it in Aggregate MCP, Get review items and Get upcoming.
  2. Claude Haiku 5.5: add your Anthropic API key and keep thinking off (n8n's agent node doesn't carry thinking blocks between tool calls).
  3. Post digest and Post runway alert: connect Slack and pick the channel.
  4. Settings: set the runway alert threshold (default 6 months) and the smallest due amount to list (default 1000), run it once, then activate.

Requirements

  • An Aggregate account (hosted, or your own server's /mcp), an Anthropic API key and Slack.

Customization

  • Change the schedule, threshold or channel, edit the digest wording in the Code node, or swap the two Slack nodes for email or Teams.

Additional info

Aggregate is read-only here and can't move money. Its numbers come from fixed definitions, the same as in the app, and missing data says unknown, never zero.
