Monitor Google reviews with Scrapewise, Google Sheets, and Slack alerts

Quick overview

This workflow runs daily to fetch Google Maps reviews for a list of places via Scrapewise, appends each review to Google Sheets, and posts a Slack alert for any review at or below a configured star-rating threshold.

How it works

  1. Runs every day at 09:00 on a schedule.
  2. Sends the configured Google Maps place URLs to Scrapewise to start a fresh “mapsreviews” scrape for the specified group.
  3. Waits two minutes to allow Scrapewise to collect the reviews.
  4. Pulls the collected review rows back from Scrapewise for the configured group.
  5. Normalizes the response into one item per review, extracts fields like stars, author, text, and review ID, and flags reviews at or below the star threshold.
  6. Appends all reviews to a Google Sheets worksheet.
  7. Sends a Slack message to the selected channel for each review flagged as needing attention.

Setup

  1. Create a Scrapewise API key and add it to both Scrapewise MCP steps using an n8n HTTP Bearer Auth credential.
  2. Create a dedicated Scrapewise group, then set its group ID, list name, place URLs (with a Google Maps data_id), and star threshold in the “Places to watch” configuration.
  3. Connect your Google Sheets OAuth credentials and set the target spreadsheet ID and worksheet name (for example, a sheet named “Reviews”).
  4. Connect your Slack OAuth credentials and set the channel where alerts should be posted (for example, #reviews).
