Quick overview
This workflow takes blog drafts from Notion, generates an SEO-safe WordPress slug, hashes the content for deduplication, validates/prettifies JSON-LD schema, and publishes the post to WordPress with embedded metadata while notifying a Slack channel.
How it works
- Triggers either when you click “Test workflow” (using a sample draft) or when a Notion database page is updated on a polling schedule.
- Converts the draft title into a clean, lowercase, URL-safe slug using DevDeskApp.
- Computes a SHA-256 hash of the article markdown with DevDeskApp to create a content fingerprint.
- Generates a trace UUID and prettifies the provided Schema.org JSON-LD with DevDeskApp for embedding into the post.
- Builds a WordPress publish payload that includes the markdown content, the JSON-LD script block, and meta fields for the fingerprint and trace UUID.
- Creates and publishes the post in WordPress and sends a publication message to a Slack channel with the title, slug, URL, and checksum.
Setup
- Connect your Notion credentials and set the Notion database ID (and any needed filters such as “Status = Ready”) in the Notion Trigger.
- Connect your WordPress credentials and confirm the target site supports post creation via the WordPress REST API.
- Connect your Slack credentials and set the destination channel (for example, #content-marketing) in the Slack message step.
- Ensure the DevDeskApp node is installed in your n8n instance, then adjust the canonical URL base and any post fields (status, meta keys) in the payload builder to match your site.
