Transcribe Google Drive meeting recordings and email notes with EmpirioLabs AI and Gmail

Quick Overview

This workflow watches a Google Drive folder for new meeting recordings, transcribes them with EmpirioLabs AI, generates structured meeting notes with an EmpirioLabs AI chat model, and emails the notes and full transcript to recipients via Gmail.

How it works

1. Triggers every few minutes when a new file is created in a specified Google Drive folder.
2. Checks the file type and size and skips anything that is not an audio/video file or exceeds the configured size limit.
3. Downloads the recording from Google Drive and sends it to EmpirioLabs AI to generate a transcript.
4. If transcription fails or the transcript is too short, sends a failure notice to the recipients via Gmail.
5. Sends the transcript to an EmpirioLabs AI chat model to produce meeting notes as a JSON object (title, summary, decisions, action items, and open questions).
6. Formats the notes into an HTML email, converts the transcript into a text attachment, and sends everything to the recipients through Gmail.

Setup

1. Install the community node package n8n-nodes-empiriolabs and add an EmpirioLabs AI API key credential.
2. Add Google Drive and Gmail credentials in n8n.
3. Select the Google Drive folder to watch, set the recipient email address(es), notes language, optional spoken language, and maximum file size.
4. Choose the EmpirioLabs AI transcription model and chat model in the two EmpirioLabs AI nodes before activating the workflow.
