Quick overview
I built this for teams that leave meetings with follow-ups nobody owns. A transcript becomes actions with a matched owner, a real due date and their own Slack thread. I chase each thread until the owner replies done, and I tell the manager once when it goes overdue.
How it works
- A transcript arrives from a webhook or a Google Drive folder.
- OpenAI lists the decisions and actions and copies each owner and due phrase word for word.
- Code matches the owner to the People tab and turns phrases such as end of month into dates.
- I post each action in its own Slack thread, and a repeat of an old action goes back to its old thread.
- Replies such as done or blocked update the sheet, and a morning run nudges owners and escalates once to the manager.
Setup
- Make a Google Sheet with four tabs and paste its link into the thirteen Sheets nodes.
- Connect OpenAI, Google Sheets, Slack and Gmail, then fill in your email, a test channel and two secrets in Meeting Settings, where I keep everything you can change.
- Create a Slack app and point its event address at the Slack Events Webhook.
- Run the sample meeting in preview mode before you turn it on.
Requirements
An OpenAI API key, a Google account, a Slack workspace where you can add an app, and n8n 2.22.0 or later.
Customization
I keep the model, time zone, escalation delay, digest day and name matching in Meeting Settings. Add nicknames in the People tab. To use another chat tool, replace the Slack post nodes, because the logic sits in the Code nodes.
Additional info
Price: $3 plus local sales tax or VAT where it applies.
I tested the logic against fixtures, and I have not run it against live Slack, OpenAI, Google or Gmail accounts yet.
