Quick overview
Every morning, this workflow takes the next topic from a Google Sheet, has OpenAI write a script and shot list, and lets the Rendley AI video agent build a vertical video with voiceover, captions and music. After optional review, Rendley exports it and posts it to your social accounts.
How it works
- A Schedule trigger runs every morning and reads the video queue from Google Sheets. Approved videos are published first; otherwise the first row with status "ready" becomes a new video, and with nothing to do the run ends.
- OpenAI writes a hook, 5 to 8 voiceover lines with a visual note for each, a title, a caption and hashtags. A Code node turns them into a single prompt for Rendley.
- One Rendley AI agent run builds the whole video: stock or AI footage, AI voiceover, animated captions, music and your brand kit. A Wait loop checks the job every 70 seconds and cancels it after the configured number of rounds.
- With review on (the default), the row gets status "review" and a link to the project in the Rendley editor. Edit anything there, then set the row to "approved".
- Rendley exports a 1080p MP4 and posts it to the selected social accounts, right away or as a scheduled post. Status, post IDs and any errors are written back to the sheet.
Setup
- Create a Google Sheet with the columns id, topic, audience, status, title, caption, project_id, project_url, post_ids, posted_at and error, then add topics with status "ready".
- In app.rendley.com, connect your social accounts under Social media and create an API key (paid plan).
- Add Rendley, OpenAI and Google Sheets credentials. Select your sheet in every Google Sheets node and your accounts in the "Post to social media" node.
- Adjust the Settings node (length, language, voice, footage, posting delay), run once with Test workflow, then activate it.
Requirements
- Rendley account on a paid plan with credits and social publishing
- Rendley community node (n8n-nodes-rendley) installed
- OpenAI API key
- Google Sheets account
Customization
- Change video length, language, voice, footage type (stock, hybrid or AI video) and posting delay in the Settings node
- Edit the writing style in "Write script and shot list" and the visual rules in "Build agent prompt"
- Set reviewBeforePosting to false to post videos without a manual review
Additional info
Failed jobs, slow jobs and failed exports or posts set the row to "failed" with the reason in the error column and stop the run, so your n8n error workflow can alert you. Posts also appear in the Rendley content calendar, where you can reschedule or cancel them.
