Generate Indian CTC offer letters with DevDeskApp, Google Docs, Gmail and Slack

Quick overview

This workflow triggers from Google Sheets (or manual testing) to calculate an India-specific CTC-to-in-hand salary breakdown with DevDeskApp, generate an offer UUID and checksum, create a Google Docs offer letter from a template, email it via Gmail, and post a dispatch alert to Slack.

How it works

  1. Triggers when a new candidate row is added in Google Sheets or when you run the workflow manually for testing.
  2. Calculates the candidate’s monthly gross, basic salary, employee PF, professional tax, and estimated in-hand salary using DevDeskApp’s CTC-to-in-hand calculator.
  3. Generates a unique offer tracking UUID, creates a candidate/role slug, and computes a SHA-256 hash of the compensation data for integrity verification.
  4. Formats the candidate details, salary breakdown, and document merge variables into a payload for document generation.
  5. Creates a personalized offer letter in Google Docs from a predefined template and saves it to the configured Drive folder.
  6. Sends the offer email to the candidate via Gmail and posts an offer-dispatched notification to a Slack channel.

Setup

  1. Connect your Google Sheets credentials and update the spreadsheet ID and sheet name used for the new-candidate trigger.
  2. Install/configure the DevDeskApp n8n node and ensure it can run the calculator, UUID, slugify, and SHA-256 hash operations.
  3. Connect your Google Docs/Google Drive credentials and set the template document ID and destination folder ID.
  4. Connect your Gmail credentials and confirm the recipient field maps to your candidate email column.
  5. Connect your Slack credentials and set the target channel (for example, #hr-talent-offers) for dispatch alerts.
