Create short social clips from long videos with Opus Clip, Airtable, Cloudinary, and Buffer

Quick overview

This workflow queues long-form video URLs from Airtable, sends them to Opus Clip for automatic clipping, uploads finished clips to Cloudinary for public hosting, stores them back in Airtable, and posts one clip per slot to Instagram Reels and TikTok via Buffer on a daily schedule.

How it works

  1. Runs weekly (or on manual trigger) to fetch up to two oldest Airtable “Concepts” records with Status set to Todo.
  2. Marks each selected Concepts record as Processed in Airtable and submits its Video URL to Opus Clip to start a clip project.
  3. Receives an Opus Clip webhook when rendering completes, immediately responds 200, waits one hour, and then requests the list of exportable clips for the project.
  4. Splits the returned clip list, keeps up to 10 clips, and skips any clip without an export URL.
  5. Downloads each clip, uploads it to Cloudinary to get a public URL, and creates a new Airtable “Content” record with Title, Video URL, and Status set to Ready to Post.
  6. Runs twice daily to pick one random Airtable Content record with Status Ready to Post, posts it to Instagram Reels and TikTok through Buffer, and marks the Airtable record as Posted.

Setup

  1. Create credentials for Airtable, Cloudinary, Buffer, and an HTTP Header Auth credential for the Opus Clip API.
  2. Create an Airtable base with a Concepts table (Video URL, Status) and a Content table (Title, Video URL, Status), and set the base/table IDs in all Airtable nodes.
  3. Copy the Production webhook URL from the Opus callback webhook and paste it into the WEBHOOK conclusionActions URL in the Opus Clip project creation request.
  4. Set your Buffer organization ID and the Instagram and TikTok channel IDs in the two Buffer posting steps.
  5. Optionally adjust Opus Clip settings (brandTemplateId and clipDurations), the maximum clips per video, and the weekly/posting schedules to match your publishing cadence.
