Quick overview

Google Maps gives agencies a starting point for local prospecting. This kit filters Apify business results and logs them in Sheets. Where an email address is available, it prepares a Gmail draft with OpenAI. I left sending to you, so each draft can be reviewed first.

How it works

  1. The settings node holds your search term, location and result limit.
  2. Apify returns business details, which the workflow normalizes before applying your rating and website filters.
  3. Repeated businesses are removed within the current batch.
  4. OpenAI writes first-email text from the returned business details.
  5. The workflow saves it in Sheets and also creates a Gmail draft when a usable email address is present.
  6. Businesses without email addresses follow the Sheets-only path. I kept those records useful for manual follow-up instead of attempting a draft with an empty recipient.

Setup

  1. Import the JSON from the download and follow the included setup guide.
  2. Connect Apify, OpenAI and your Google credentials, then create the prospect sheet with the documented columns.
  3. Replace the placeholders and choose a small local search for your first run.
  4. Leave the schedule off while you check the returned businesses and inspect the Gmail drafts.
  5. I recommend verifying both a result with an email address and one without before increasing the result limit.

Requirements

  • Apify Google Maps scraper access and an OpenAI API key are required. The workflow runs in n8n and connects to Gmail and Google Sheets. Scraper and model usage can incur separate charges.

Customization

  • I left website-contact enrichment off because Apify charges for it. You can enable it in settings. That node also holds your search area and rating threshold, with website filters for offers that need them.

Additional info

Email availability varies. The workflow does not guarantee contact details or replies, and it does not audit business websites. Dedupe covers the current batch. Emails remain drafts for your review.
