n8n Customer Acceptable Use Policy

Effective date: March, 2026

Your use of the n8n Software and Services is subject to this Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”).

Any capitalized terms used but not defined herein shall have the meaning set forth in the applicable agreement between you and n8n. This AUP applies to all customers and authorized users of the n8n Software and Services, whether accessed via n8n Cloud or deployed in a self-hosted environment. However, certain provisions apply only to specific deployment models:

  • All customers (n8n Cloud and self-hosted): Sections 1 (Prohibited Use — Security and infrastructure; Harmful Use; Safety-Critical and Illegal Use), 3 (Customer obligations), 4 (Enforcement), 5 (Reporting violations), and 6 (Updates) apply to all deployments.
  • n8n Cloud customers only: Section 1 (Prohibited Use — Use of n8n AI Features) and Section 2 (AI subprocessors) apply exclusively to customers accessing n8n-hosted AI features through n8n Cloud. Self-hosted customers who independently integrate third-party AI services are responsible for compliance with the applicable use policies of those services directly.
