Slack and Zoom integration

Save yourself the work of writing custom integrations for Slack and Zoom and use n8n instead. Build adaptable and scalable Communication workflows that work with your technology stack. All within a building experience you will love.

How to connect Slack and Zoom

  • Step 1: Create a new workflow
  • Step 2: Add and configure nodes
  • Step 3: Connect
  • Step 4: Customize and extend your integration
  • Step 5: Test and activate your workflow

Step 1: Create a new workflow and add the first step

In n8n, click the "Add workflow" button in the Workflows tab to create a new workflow. Add the starting point – a trigger on when your workflow should run: an app event, a schedule, a webhook call, another workflow, an AI chat, or a manual trigger. Sometimes, the HTTP Request node might already serve as your starting point.

Step 2: Add and configure Slack and Zoom nodes

You can find Slack and Zoom in the nodes panel. Drag them onto your workflow canvas, selecting their actions. Click each node, choose a credential, and authenticate to grant n8n access. Configure Slack and Zoom nodes one by one: input data on the left, parameters in the middle, and output data on the right.

Step 3: Connect Slack and Zoom

A connection establishes a link between Slack and Zoom (or vice versa) to route data through the workflow. Data flows from the output of one node to the input of another. You can have single or multiple connections for each node.

Step 4: Customize and extend your Slack and Zoom integration

Use n8n's core nodes such as If, Split Out, Merge, and others to transform and manipulate data. Write custom JavaScript or Python in the Code node and run it as a step in your workflow. Connect Slack and Zoom with any of n8n’s 1000+ integrations, and incorporate advanced AI logic into your workflows.

Step 5: Test and activate your Slack and Zoom workflow

Save and run the workflow to see if everything works as expected. Based on your configuration, data should flow from Slack to Zoom or vice versa. Easily debug your workflow: you can check past executions to isolate and fix the mistake. Once you've tested everything, make sure to save your workflow and activate it.

Use a Custom URL for Recurring Zoom Meetings

Use case

Instead of this:
https://us06web.zoom.us/j/83456429326?pwd=1hVesbyHCsOfstyVU3z4CR6D46A8K.1

share this:
mydomain.com/meet-me

Do you ever wish you had one, simple URL that you can share with people to hop on a Zoom meeting? 😃

You could waste time: 👎👎

  • creating a recurring Zoom meeting 😫
  • saving the link somewhere 😵‍💫
  • finding it, copying it each time you need it 😭
  • sharing an ugly long link with everyone 🤢

Or...

You could create a 🌹 beautiful link using your own domain/website that redirects to your Zoom meeting, and share that beautified URL with everyone. 😌 And it will be easy for you to remember 💡

> NOTE
Zoom now forces a one-year max lifetime on recurring videos. 😐 So I created this simple workflow to solve a few headaches. ☺️

What this workflow does

  • Triggers once, annually (360 days)
  • Creates a new, recurring meeting in Zoom
  • Updates a redirect script with the new Zoom URL on a Wordpress Page
  • Notifies you in a Slack channel

What this workflow lacks in breakthrough innovation, it makes up for with usefulness and peace of mind.

Have fun and make it your own!

Setup

  1. Add your credentials in each node
    1. this pre-requires you have a Zoom, Wordpress and Slack account, and have gotten API access on those accounts
  2. Create a Page in Wordpress, and get its ID.
(Or create a new Page in WP.)
  3. Configure node parameters according to your needs.
  4. TEST!!!! Don't ever skip this step. Ever.
  5. Set it and forget it.

> NOTE
You can replace the Wordpress node with another website CMS node, or generic HTTP request for a non-wordpress site.
You can also remove or replace the Slack node with other notification functionality (eg. sms, whatsapp, email...)

Template was created in n8n v1.58.2

Build your own Slack and Zoom integration

Create custom Slack and Zoom workflows by choosing triggers and actions. Nodes come with global operations and settings, as well as app-specific parameters that can be configured. You can also use the HTTP Request node to query data from any app or service with a REST API.
